The Platte River Parkway Trust, in partnership with the Casper Rotary Club, will be serving up an afternoon of fun for all on Saturday, August 27th from noon until 5 p.m. in the parking lot, and along the trail system, at Crossroads Playground.
This year's Festival has a little something for everyone including a delicious BBQ lunch, microbrew tasting, live music, a whole slew of fun activities and booths for kids of all ages AND Casper Rotary Club's Duck Derby.
Arrowhead Catering will be cooking up a variety of delicious BBQ for purchase at RIVERFEST and the Parkway Trust Board will be offering pop, water, popcorn and ice cream for your enjoyment.
This year's microbrew tasting will include Sam Adams, New Belgium, Avery Brewing, Boulevard Street, Alaskan Brewing Blue Moon Brewing, Big Sky Brewing, Deschutes Brewery, Sierra Nevada, O'Dell Brewing, Snake River Brewing, Boulder Beer, and Mike's Hard Lemonade. A 12 oz. microbrew is $4.00 and a 4 oz taster is $1.00. The Parkway appreciates Western and Teton Distributing, and all the regional brewers that make our Microbrew tasting possible.
This year's musical lineup includes Bones Muhroni and John Kirlin and the High Plains Drifters.
In addition to the ever popular Face Painting, 2011 RIVERFEST will also feature a Dunk Tank (A minimum $5 donation for 3 balls gets you a chance to "dunk" you favorite local celebrity) and several other super fun FREE game booths.
Casper Rotary's Great Duck Derby is an essential part of the fun at RIVERFEST. Purchase a Duck Ticket for $20 and you have a chance to win great prizes including. Duck Drop is scheduled for 2:30 p.m. Prizes include a chance to win $25,000, $3,000 in cash, $4,000 trip to Cancun, Mexico, $2,000 travel voucher. Casper Rotary returns 100% of Duck Derby proceeds to the local community.
2011 RIVEFEST is brought to you by two fine community organizations, the Platte River Parkway Trust and Casper Rotary.
