TRANSPORTATION
When you're in need of public transportation in Casper, Wyoming, there are several options to make sure you're able to explore all of the Adventure Capital's nooks and crannies! Whether you're in need of a spur of the moment cab ride, a bus to carry you through the day, or a limo for a special night on the town, you'll be sure to reach your destination.
The most convenient way of traveling Casper is The Bus. Operated by CATC (Casper Area Transportation Coalition,) The Bus is a fixed route transit system with 6 routes throughout the city. All busses run their circuit once an hour, and offer folks a chance to commute from one end of town to the other, including the surrounding communities of Paradise Valley, Mills and Evansville.
Their hours of service are from 6:30 a.m. to 6:30 p.m. Monday through Friday, except on major holidays. Fares range from $1 for adults and youth, and $.50 for the elderly and disabled. Children 5 and under ride for free. If route deviation service is requested, there will be a $2.00 charge. Monthly passes are available at $30/month for the general public, and $15/month for the elderly and disabled. Students also can enjoy special rates, at $.75 a ride, or $25 a month.
Another service CATC provides is its dial-a-ride, fixed route deviation transportation around Casper. With this option, you can make reservations for services, as long as they're made by 3 p.m. the day before, although a 2-day advance notice is recommended. Pickup times have a 15 minute window before or after the scheduled time.
CATC dial-a-ride services are available in Casper, Mills, Evansville and Bar Nunn Monday through Friday, from 7 a.m. to 5:15 p.m. You can reach them by phone to schedule pickups Monday through Friday from 6:30 a.m. to 6 p.m. You can also call on Saturday and Sunday from 7:30 a.m. to 5:15 p.m. Cost is $2.00 for elderly and disabled (per one way trip), $5 for the general public and $1 for children 12 and under accompanied by an adult.
CATC operates a phone system equipped for TDD (265-1373) and also operates lift-equipped vehicles on a dial-a-ride basis, though service may be limited in some areas.
If you're in need of taxi service, Casper Cab (234-8294) and RC Cab are available for quick trips about town. Looking for something a bit more long term? There are several car rental agencies - Avis, Hertz, and Budget are all located on-site at Casper/Natrona County International Airport. Another popular option, Enterprise Rent-a-Car is available in town.
If you're in town celebrating a special occasion, or just want to make any ol' night seem special, why not rent a limo? Casper Limo or Lasso A Limo (267-4048) are great places to call, especially if your night includes celebrating with alcohol.
